keyboard-configuration software package provides system-wide keyboard preferences, you can install in your Debian 7 (Wheezy) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install keyboard-configuration
keyboard-configuration is installed in your system.
Make ensure the keyboard-configuration package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep keyboard-configuration *
You will get with keyboard-configuration package name, version, architecture and description in a table
